12th Combat Aviation Brigade

The 100th Fighter Squadron is the third addition to the 1st Air Expeditionary Wing, flying the AH-64D Apache. Formed in April of 2022, the Griffins were the wing's first entry into the Army Aviation and Rotary Wing space. The Griffins fly the AH-64D with plans to incorporate future Rotary Wing modules, such as the Kiowa.

The 12th CAB trains for the following missions:

  • Night Strike

  • Armed Reconnaissance

  • Armed Escort

  • Close Combat Attack (CCA)

The 12th CAB employs a "zero to hero" training strategy. This training program is multiple modules isolating skills necessary to be an Apache Pilot, from basic airmanship to weapons employment. The training program will progress at the pace of each individual pilot.
